Backstory:
MLD is an Indonesian young man, raised in a south-east Asian suburb. He was never a rich man, but always got around by making money with his friends in every way possible. He and his friends used to try to stay within the lines of the legal system, but this wasn’t always possible. MLD always had quite a temper, inherited from his father who was a military man. At a young age, his temper got him caught and booked on multiple occasions, but he never did more than 2 months of jail time. His offenses included assault, illegal betting, and some small possession of substances charges (weed).

Despite also always having had some regular jobs, MLD often worked as a bouncer or in security, he and his friend group were known to cause some trouble in the streets. They enjoyed spending time in places like casinos, underground parties and the park but were most often found in their regular spot, an illegal fight club called ‘Pergi Tidur’.

MLD always admired the well known fighters in Tidur. He made friends with some of them, trained with them, and observed them a lot. He never had the courage to fight there himself… aside for recently. He enlisted himself in one of the fighting tournaments that the fight club hosted. At the day of a fights, there was a drawing, as usual. MLD drew the most established fighter from outside his neighborhood; a Japanese man called Flo-Marison. Marison was a notorious yakuza gang affiliate.

In the ring, just before the bell rang, MLD saw one of the guys in his friend group making a bet with a yakuza man. This triggered something in him.

MLD, having no official fighting experience and now seeing his friends money was on the line, eagerly wanted to prove himself.

Flo-Marison was brutally murdered within 20 seconds of the first round.

In the midst of screaming Yakuza men, staff of the club, his friends celebrating and over a hundred people in shock, MLD panicked. He ran off, going straight home, packing as many money, clothes and items of worth as he could, he dipped. He sprinted to the train station and got on the first train that could take him as far away as possible.

This train led him to Free City.
